Getting started

Build your first flow in ten minutes

From a blank page to a flow that emails you a ranked list every morning.

Open it in the app

A flow is a row of blocks that runs from left to right: something starts it, it decides where to look, it brings in data, it works on that data and it sends the result somewhere. This article builds the most common one: every morning, find a type of place in your city, rank it and email it to you.

The quickest way: ask for it

  1. Open Flows and type what you want in the box at the top, for example every morning, find new pharmacies in Toronto, score them for our product and email me the best 20.
  2. Press Go. A new flow opens and Ask xMap builds it in the chat next to the canvas, tests it on example data and fixes what it finds.
  3. Read the sentence above the canvas: it says what the flow does in words. Click any part of it to change it.
  4. Press Run once to run it for real now, with live data. The email really arrives.
  5. Press Deploy and it runs every morning on its own.

Building it block by block

  1. Open Flows, press New flow and start from a blank canvas.
  2. Add a Schedule block and set it to every day at the time you want.
  3. Add an Area of interest and type your city.
  4. Add Nearby places and pick the type of place, for example Pharmacy. It searches inside the area before it.
  5. Add xMap LLM, choose Score and rank, and describe what a good place looks like for you.
  6. Add Email. It writes to you unless you change the address.
  7. Link the blocks from left to right by dragging from the small dot on the right of one block to the next, or select a block and press its + to add the next one already linked.

What happens next

Everything a live flow finds is kept in Results, with its facts, its score and the AI’s reason, notes and its history. Tomorrow's email holds only what is new if you add Only new before the AI block.
