xMap Flows in Slack

Your AI employees post what they find to Slack, and Slack messages can start them.

Open it in the app

xMap Flows builds AI employees that watch places, competitors, openings, hiring, roads and weather, and report what they find. With Slack connected, they post their findings in the channels your team already reads, so nobody has to open another tool to see what changed.

What it does in Slack

  • Posts what your AI employees find: one message a run with the flow’s name, the count and a linked list, with the full results attached as a spreadsheet, or one message per item. Write your own with {{items_md}} and other fields, or leave the message empty for the ready-made one.
  • Starts a flow from a message: the New message event runs a flow when someone writes in a channel, mentions xMap Flows, or sends it a direct message, and a Reply block answers in the message’s thread.
  • Asks before acting: an Approval block can post its request in Slack, and the people asked answer there.
  • Changes a flow from a thread: a teammate who may edit the flow replies in a list’s thread with what to change (for example "only places rated 4 or more"), and the change is shown with Confirm and Cancel before anything is saved.
  • Makes a private channel in one click: at the top of the Channel list, pick Create a private channel. xMap Flows makes it, is in it from the start, invites you and the teammates you pick by their work email, and puts it in the block.

Add it to Slack

  1. Sign in at flows.xmap.ai. No account yet? Ask for one or book a call.
  2. Go to Data, Connections, New connection, choose Slack and press Sign in with Slack. Pick your workspace and press Allow.
  3. In any flow, add the Slack block (or ask Ask xMap, for example "send the list to #market-watch every morning"), pick the channel, and press Run once to see the first message.

Each person’s Slack connection is their own unless they share it with the team. A team connection can be limited to the channels it may post in, and whether it may send direct messages.

What xMap Flows asks Slack for

  • Post messages as xMap Flows, in public channels without being invited, with the flow’s name (chat:write, chat:write.public, chat:write.customize).
  • See the list of channels to pick from, public and the private ones it is in (channels:read, groups:read).
  • Find people by name or work email, to send them a direct message or invite them to a channel (users:read, users:read.email, im:write).
  • Attach the results as a spreadsheet (files:write).
  • Read new messages in the channels and direct messages a live flow listens to, and when it is mentioned, only to start that flow (channels:history, groups:history, im:history, app_mentions:read). Messages are not stored beyond the run they start.
  • Create a private channel when you pick Create a private channel (groups:write).

xMap Flows never reads your workspace’s other messages or files, and does not ask for admin rights. Sign in with Slack again any time to see the list; remove the app in Slack to end it at once.
