Bring in news stories
Read news feeds or a news page, keep what matters, put the places on a map.
News brings stories into a flow. Read picks feeds (the RSS or Atom address a newspaper, a trade site or a company newsroom gives) or a news page, whose headlines and links xMap reads (or its own feed when the page names one).
- Addresses: up to 5, one a line, each read once a run. Only public pages; a site whose robots.txt asks robots not to read a page is left out, and the step says so.
- Only stories with these words: a story with any of them is kept.
- Keep only news about: in your own words; xMap AI reads each story’s title and summary and keeps the ones that fit.
- Published and Most stories: how far back, and how many, newest first.
Each story is an item with title, link, published, source and a short summary (never the whole article). A story that names a place gets place, lat and lng, so it can go on a map. Put Only new after it so each story comes once: it knows a story by its link. Its price is on the block’s page.
