Why investors & consultants teams use xMap Flows

Consultants and investors spend weeks counting venues, separating chains from independents and sizing markets before they can start thinking. xMap Flows does the counting: every place of a type in a country, chain or independent, rated, mapped and compared with the people who live nearby. A deal team can check a hundred branches of a target before the first call, a consultant can deliver a market entry study in days, and an analyst can keep a city index fresh every month.

Weeks of desk research

A flow counts and classifies every relevant place in the markets you name, and xMap AI writes the summary per city.

Due diligence under time pressure

Check every branch of a target, the rivals around each and who lives there, before the first call.

Indexes that go stale

Monthly flows refresh a city scorecard or density index on the same method each time.

Evidence buried in appendices

Clients see the findings on a shared map and dashboard, not a spreadsheet.

Investors, analysts and consultants who need location numbers they can trust, on a schedule.

How a flow works for investors & consultants

Every flow reads left to right: something starts it (a schedule, a message, an app event or new rows), it looks at an area, gathers data, lets xMap AI make sense of it, applies your rules, and sends the result where your team works. These are the blocks investors & consultants templates use most.

  1. 1

    Where

Choose the area: countries, cities, a radius around your own sites, or shapes you draw.

    Area of interest

  2. 2

    Data

Bring in what is there and what is changing.

Nearby places · Demographics · Map business scan · Job postings · Ships (AIS)

  3. 3

    AI and your rules

Score, rank, keep only what is new or fits, and match with your own data.

xMap LLM · Place classifier · AI agent · Sort and limit · Remove duplicates

  4. 4

    Where results go

Send each result where your team works.

Email · Show on a map · Make a report · Reply · Google Sheets

Stories: what teams build

One-minute narrated stories of a flow at work. The scenarios and figures are illustrative, not customer results.

Property advisory

Every broker’s question answered in under a minute

The challenge. Owen heads research at a large property advisory firm in Toronto. Sixty brokers send his team questions all day. How many people live near this corner? How many cafes are on this block? Each question waits a day in the queue, and brokers walk into pitches without the answer. His three analysts spend their weeks on the same lookups.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Owen built Sage. When a broker asks in the research channel, Sage reads the question, counts who lives around the address, lists the shops and cafes nearby, and answers in the thread within a minute.

The result. Before a pitch in Liberty Village, a broker asks how many young adults live within a kilometre. Sage answers in forty seconds: eighteen thousand in their twenties and thirties, and forty-two cafes. The analysts are back on paid studies. Owen’s brokers stopped waiting for answers. Now they walk in with them.

Fuel and charging

The board brief that writes itself on Monday

The challenge. Tomas heads strategy at a large fuel and charging company in Prague. His company already has AI employees watching rivals, openings and closures across the city. But every Monday he spends the morning copying their numbers into slides for the board. By the time the deck is ready, the week has moved on.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Tomas built Quill. Every Monday at six, Quill reads what the other AI employees found this week against last, writes a short brief from their figures, turns it into a report, and emails it to the board before they arrive.

The result. This Monday, the brief leads with five new rival chargers within a kilometre of their sites in Smichov and Karlin, and two closed stations in Chodov. The board reads it over breakfast. By ten they agree on two new sites. Tomas stopped reporting on the week. Now he gets to act on it.

Management consulting

Twelve AI employees, one page for the partners

The challenge. Bram is a partner at a large management consultancy in Amsterdam. His team runs twelve AI employees that watch markets for clients. Each one finds something every day, but nobody reads it all. On Sunday nights Bram copies them into slides for the partners. Half the slides are noise, and the one that mattered, a rival opening beside a client’s flagship, sits on page twenty.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Bram built Atlas. Every Monday at six, Atlas reads what all twelve AI employees found this week against last, keeps only the big moves, writes the brief in plain words, turns it into five slides, and posts them for the partners.

The result. At seven, the partners open five slides instead of forty. The rival opening beside the client’s flagship is on page one, with its figures. Bram has his Sunday back, and the client hears about it before lunch. Twelve AI employees report to Bram. Now he reads one page.

Strategy consulting

The client hears about every rival gym first

The challenge. Wing is a consultant at a global strategy firm in Hong Kong. Her client, a European gym chain, is choosing districts for its first ten clubs. Every Friday the client asks what changed in the market. Wing spends a whole day checking rival gyms district by district. She still missed a big studio in Causeway Bay closing, and the client heard it from a landlord first.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Wing built Tally. Every Friday at two, across nine districts, Tally lists every gym and fitness studio, spots the ones that closed or slipped in rating, writes what each change means for the client, and sends the note from Wing’s inbox.

The result. This Friday, Tally finds two studios closed in Causeway Bay and a rival slipping in Mong Kok. Wing’s note is with the client by three, with a map. The client moves its first club to Causeway Bay, where the gap just opened. Wing’s client used to hear the news from landlords. Now landlords hear it from them.

Blocks are the building pieces of every flow. These are the ones investors & consultants templates and stories use, most used first. Each has its own page with its settings, examples and a short film.

Questions

Can xMap Flows do a market entry study?

Yes. It counts and classifies every place of the types you care about in each target market, separates chains from independents, adds residents and writes a summary per city into a sheet and a map.

How does it help due diligence?

Send the target's name to a flow: it finds every branch, counts rivals around each, adds residents and hiring, and an AI agent writes a short memo with a map.

Can we deliver it to clients under our brand?

Yes. Dashboards, maps and PDF reports carry your logo, and the whole app can run on your own address. See Partners.

Which data is live?

Live: xMap's places database (300M+ places of more than 5,000 kinds), live business listings from online maps, job postings, road incidents, ships (AIS), satellite pictures, weather forecasts, news from the feeds and pages you choose, travel-time areas and routes on the road network, and residents by age (Demographics, in about 100 countries), live road speeds and congestion (Traffic Flow; it does not count cars), footfall around each place (Mobility Footfall, in most of the world, about 10 days behind), plus regional datasets where xMap offers them, such as cars counted on the roads of the United Arab Emirates (Road traffic history). Catchment returns sample figures for now, and every result made from it says so.

Do I need to write code?

No. A flow is built from blocks on a canvas, from a ready-made template, or by describing it to Ask xMap in a sentence; Ask xMap builds it, tests it and fixes what fails. Developers can also use the API and the MCP server.

How fast can a investors & consultants team start?

Hire one of the AI employees above: answer two questions (the city and the kind of place), or write one sentence to make it yours ("for dental clinics in Lyon, to WhatsApp every Monday"), and it runs in your own account with results you can see. A new account can also type its website and meet three AI employees already tried in its city. Or try the home page first: no account needed.

Can an agency or consultancy offer this to its clients?

Yes. Your logo and colour on the app, emails and reports, emails from your own domain, the app on your own address, and a read-only page for each client with its results, map and weekly report. See the Partners page.
