The client hears about every rival gym first
Wing is a consultant at a global strategy firm in Hong Kong. Her client, a European gym chain, is choosing districts for its first ten clubs.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
Every Friday the client asks what changed in the market. Wing spends a whole day checking rival gyms district by district. She still missed a big studio in Causeway Bay closing, and the client heard it from a landlord first.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Wing built Tally. Tally is an AI employee: a flow of 6 blocks.
Every Friday at two,
Fridays at 2 (Schedule)
across nine districts,
Nine districts (Area of interest)
Tally lists every gym and fitness studio,
Gyms and studios (Nearby places)
spots the ones that closed or slipped in rating,
Closed or re-rated (What changed)
writes what each change means for the client,
What it means (xMap LLM)
and sends the note from Wing’s inbox.
A note to the client (Gmail)
What it solves
- A day of checks a week: solved by Schedule and Nearby places
- Missed a rival closing: solved by What changed
- Client heard it first: solved by xMap LLM and Gmail
The result
This Friday, Tally finds two studios closed in Causeway Bay and a rival slipping in Mong Kok. Wing’s note is with the client by three, with a map. The client moves its first club to Causeway Bay, where the gap just opened.
Wing’s client used to hear the news from landlords. Now landlords hear it from them.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.
The flow, block by block
- 1
- 2
Nine districts
Sets where the flow looks: countries, cities or specific places, or areas you draw on a map.
- 3
Gyms and studios
Places around a point from xMap’s own places database (300M+ places, refreshed every month): pick the types of place (more than 5,000, such as Restaurant, Cafe, Pharmacy, Hospital or Gas station, or a whole group of them) and how far to look.
- 4
Closed or re-rated
Lets through only the places this flow found before whose details changed since: closed, a rating that moved, a new phone or website, a new name or address, or any field you name.
