Why food delivery & quick commerce teams use xMap Flows

Delivery platforms win on supply and speed. xMap Flows finds restaurants and shops that just opened and are not yet on your platform, ranks areas for dark stores and rider hubs, maps cuisine gaps, warns about rain, heat and closures, and tells operations when a match or event will spike demand. A rider chat answers questions on the road.

Rivals sign new restaurants first

Dark stores placed by guess

How a flow works for food delivery & quick commerce

Every flow reads left to right: something starts it (a schedule, a message, an app event or new rows), it looks at an area, gathers data, lets xMap AI make sense of it, applies your rules, and sends the result where your team works. These are the blocks food delivery & quick commerce templates use most.

  1. 1

    Where

Choose the area: countries, cities, a radius around your own sites, or shapes you draw.

Area of interest · Travel area

  2. 2

    Data

Bring in what is there and what is changing.

Nearby places · Demographics · Traffic incidents · Weather forecast · Map business scan

  3. 3

Stories: what teams build

A second ramen shop where the lunch crowd is

The challenge. Kenji owns a small ramen shop in Calgary’s Beltline. The line goes out the door, so he wants a second one. Three empty storefronts are up for lease, and he has a week to choose. He drives past each one at lunch, counts noodle bars by eye, and guesses who could reach him in a January snowstorm. Pick wrong, and the lease runs five years.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Kenji built Compass. On the first of each month, Compass draws everything within fifteen minutes by car of each storefront, finds the noodle bars, offices and colleges inside, works out the lunch crowd for every rival, puts the best site first, and emails Kenji the answer.

The result. Compass is clear. Kensington has nineteen offices and two colleges within fifteen minutes, and only one ramen shop. Inglewood has six rivals. Kenji signs for Kensington that Friday, and the new shop sells out its first weekend. Kenji stopped driving around to guess. Now he knows where they are hungry.

Every new bar on a rep’s list by Monday

The challenge. Mateo leads sales at a craft brewery in Monterrey. Four reps sell his beer to bars and restaurants across the city. New bars open every week in San Pedro and Barrio Antiguo, and his reps hear about them late. Two reps visited the same bar last Thursday. Nobody visited the new rooftop bar in Cumbres, and a big brewer put its taps in first.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Mateo built Radar. Every Monday at seven, across metro Monterrey, Radar finds the bars and gastropubs that opened recently, keeps only the ones it has not seen before, puts the best rated first, splits them fairly between the four reps by area, and emails each rep their own list.

The result. On Monday, Radar finds eleven new bars. Each rep gets two or three, close together, with the address and the rating. No double visits, no missed openings. By Friday, seven of the eleven are pouring Mateo’s beer. Mateo’s reps stopped chasing rumours. Now they arrive before the paint dries.

Every cake order answered while she bakes

The challenge. Sofia bakes celebration cakes in her kitchen in Chapinero, Bogota. Every single order comes in on WhatsApp. Forty messages a day: prices, flavours, can you deliver to Usaquén on Saturday? She answers with flour on her hands, hours late. By then, half the customers have ordered somewhere else, and the birthday is gone.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Sofia built Anchor. When a customer writes on WhatsApp, Anchor reads the message and answers in Sofia’s own warm way, checks her cakes, prices and delivery days, writes each confirmed order into her order book, and replies in the same chat within a minute.

The result. Today, Anchor answers thirty-eight messages while Sofia bakes. Twelve become orders, each already in her book with the flavour, the date and the address. Sofia reads the book twice a day, once at noon and once at six. Sofia’s hands stay in the dough. Her customers never wait.

Three van routes ready before the pierogi cool

The challenge. Piotr makes pierogi with his mother in a small kitchen in Warsaw. Sixty corner shops sell them. Orders land in a shared sheet all night. At five in the morning he sorts them for three drivers by hand, guessing who goes where. Drivers cross the river twice, the vans run late, and some shops sell out before the pierogi arrive.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Piotr built Horizon. When the night’s orders land in the sheet, Horizon splits the shops into three fair areas, plans the best route for each driver, sends it to each driver on WhatsApp, and keeps the delivery log up to date.

The result. At five, Piotr’s phone already shows three routes. No driver crosses the river twice. The vans are back by ten instead of noon, and every shop has fresh pierogi before the breakfast rush. Piotr used to plan routes at dawn. Now he folds dumplings.

Fresh pasta

Every restaurant her cargo bike can reach

The challenge. Chiara makes fresh pasta in a tiny workshop in Oltrarno, Florence. She delivers it herself, by cargo bike. She can only serve restaurants a short ride away, but she does not know which ones are worth asking. She tried the famous places on the Arno, and they make their own. Hours of walking in, smiling, and being shown the door.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Chiara built Ranger. Every Monday, Ranger draws everything within fifteen minutes of her workshop by bike, finds the trattorias and restaurants inside, keeps the ones rated four and a half and up, skips the ones she has already asked, writes each a short note in Italian, and invites the chef to taste her pasta.

The result. Ranger finds forty-two good restaurants she can reach before the pasta cools. This week, six get her note, and two chefs reply the same day. By Friday, her cargo bike has two more stops, both in Santo Spirito. Chiara stopped knocking on the wrong doors. Now the right ones write back.

Five riders who never sit in a closed road

The challenge. Thabo runs a small motorbike courier company in Johannesburg, with five riders and a lot of parcels. Every morning the riders set off on the same old routes. Then a road is closed in Braamfontein, or roadworks block Rosebank, and a rider sits in it for an hour. Parcels arrive late, customers phone angry, and Thabo spends his day saying sorry.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Thabo built Pathfinder. Every morning at six, Pathfinder takes the day's drops, checks each one for road closures and roadworks nearby, shares the stops between the five riders in the best order, sends each rider his route with the closures marked, picks out the drops with a closure next door, and warns those customers before they wait.

The result. At six, Pathfinder finds three closures. Four drops sit right next to one, so those riders know before they leave, and those customers get a new time. By noon, not one rider has sat in a closed road, and the phone stays quiet. Thabo used to say sorry all day. Now his riders just get there.

Payments

At every new restaurant before it settles in

The challenge. Madison sells card machines and payment apps to restaurants in Miami, on her own commission. A new restaurant is still trying things in its first weeks, and that is when it switches how it takes payment. Madison drives Little Havana and Wynwood looking for new signs, but most weeks she finds them months late, locked into a rival’s contract.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Madison built Pilot. Every Monday at seven, across Miami, Pilot finds the restaurants and cafes that opened in the last three months, skips the ones it has already sent her, sorts them into cafes, food trucks and full restaurants, keeps the best rated twenty, and emails her the week’s list.

The result. This Monday her list had twenty-six new places, among them nine new cafes in Wynwood. Madison visited the best twenty by Wednesday, every one still in its first months, and signed six of them by Friday. Madison stopped hunting for opening signs. The new places now come to her inbox.

Questions

How does xMap Flows help merchant acquisition?

It finds restaurants and shops that opened in the last days, skips the ones already on your platform (CRM lookup or your table) and sends sales a ranked list with a pitch.

Can it place dark stores?

Yes. It ranks areas by residents and the grocery supply already there.

Does it help riders?

Yes. Heat and rain alerts, closures on the way, and a rider chat.

Which data is live?

Live: xMap's places database (300M+ places of more than 5,000 kinds), live business listings from online maps, job postings, road incidents, ships (AIS), satellite pictures, weather forecasts, news from the feeds and pages you choose, travel-time areas and routes on the road network, and residents by age (Demographics, in about 100 countries), live road speeds and congestion (Traffic Flow; it does not count cars), footfall around each place (Mobility Footfall, in most of the world, about 10 days behind), plus regional datasets where xMap offers them, such as cars counted on the roads of the United Arab Emirates (Road traffic history). Catchment returns sample figures for now, and every result made from it says so.

Do I need to write code?

No. A flow is built from blocks on a canvas, from a ready-made template, or by describing it to Ask xMap in a sentence; Ask xMap builds it, tests it and fixes what fails. Developers can also use the API and the MCP server.

How fast can a food delivery & quick commerce team start?

Hire one of the AI employees above: answer two questions (the city and the kind of place), or write one sentence to make it yours ("for dental clinics in Lyon, to WhatsApp every Monday"), and it runs in your own account with results you can see. A new account can also type its website and meet three AI employees already tried in its city. Or try the home page first: no account needed.

Can an agency or consultancy offer this to its clients?

Yes. Your logo and colour on the app, emails and reports, emails from your own domain, the app on your own address, and a read-only page for each client with its results, map and weekly report. See the Partners page.
