At every new restaurant before it settles in
Madison sells card machines and payment apps to restaurants in Miami, on her own commission.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
A new restaurant is still trying things in its first weeks, and that is when it switches how it takes payment. Madison drives Little Havana and Wynwood looking for new signs, but most weeks she finds them months late, locked into a rival’s contract.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Madison built Pilot. Pilot is an AI employee: a flow of 7 blocks.
Every Monday at seven,
Every Monday at 7 (Schedule)
across Miami,
Miami (Area of interest)
Pilot finds the restaurants and cafes that opened in the last three months,
Opened in the last 3 months (Nearby places)
skips the ones it has already sent her,
Not seen before (Only new)
sorts them into cafes, food trucks and full restaurants,
One clean type each (Place classifier)
keeps the best rated twenty,
The best rated twenty (Sort and limit)
and emails her the week’s list.
Her Monday list (Email)
What it solves
- Driving to spot signs: solved by Nearby places and Sort and limit
- Locked in elsewhere: solved by Schedule and Nearby places
- Months too late: solved by Only new and Email
The result
This Monday her list had twenty-six new places, among them nine new cafes in Wynwood. Madison visited the best twenty by Wednesday, every one still in its first months, and signed six of them by Friday.
Madison stopped hunting for opening signs. The new places now come to her inbox.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.

Miami
Sets where the flow looks: countries, cities or specific places, or areas you draw on a map.
- 3
Opened in the last 3 months
Places around a point from xMap’s own places database (300M+ places, refreshed every month): pick the types of place (more than 5,000, such as Restaurant, Cafe, Pharmacy, Hospital or Gas station, or a whole group of them) and how far to look.
- 4
Not seen before
Lets through only the items this flow has not found before, so a daily flow sends only what is new.
- 5
- 6
The best rated twenty
Puts the items in order, and can keep only the first ones: the 10 best rated, the 20 nearest, the highest fit scores.
