Why security & emergency services teams use xMap Flows

Security companies and emergency services measure success in minutes. xMap Flows finds the nearest unit to each incident from your own list of points, shows which areas are far from every station, watches road incidents along response routes and gives storm and heat briefings. Security firms also use it to find new guarding and alarm clients as businesses open.

Coverage gaps hidden

Areas far from every station or unit, ranked by people living there.

Nearest unit found by radio

Find nearest sends the closest ambulance or patrol to each incident.

Routes blocked

Closures and accidents on response routes, live.

Sales by cold call

New shops, warehouses and construction sites that need guarding or alarms.

Security companies, alarm installers, police, fire and ambulance services and safety teams covering people and places.

How a flow works for security & emergency services

Every flow reads left to right: something starts it (a schedule, a message, an app event or new rows), it looks at an area, gathers data, lets xMap AI make sense of it, applies your rules, and sends the result where your team works. These are the blocks security & emergency services templates use most.

  1. 1

    Where

Choose the area: countries, cities, a radius around your own sites, or shapes you draw.

  2. 2

    Data

Bring in what is there and what is changing.

Nearby places · Traffic incidents · Demographics · Weather forecast · Job postings

  3. 3

Stories: what teams build

One-minute narrated stories of a flow at work. The scenarios and figures are illustrative, not customer results.

Emergency services

Sending every ambulance to the hospital it can reach

The challenge. Kwame runs dispatch for the city ambulance service in Accra. His crews pick a hospital by habit. When the approach road is jammed, an ambulance can sit for twenty minutes a few hundred metres from the door. Dispatchers only learn it from the radio, after the patient has waited.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Kwame built Beacon. Every fifteen minutes, at each of six emergency entrances, Beacon measures how the roads are moving, ranks the hospitals clearest first, updates the dispatch map, and if an approach is at a standstill, warns every dispatcher at once.

The result. Now the dispatch room keeps one live map open. When the road outside one hospital freezes, Beacon warns the team within a quarter of an hour, and the next crew goes to the clear one. The average run is nine minutes shorter. Kwame cannot clear Accra’s roads. But his crews no longer wait in them.

Port authority

No anchor drops on the island cables

The challenge. Yannis is a duty officer at the port authority of Piraeus, the sea gate of Athens. Undersea cables carry power to the islands across a stretch where no ship may anchor. Waiting ships drift in at night anyway. One dragged anchor last winter cut an island’s power for four days, and nobody saw it happen.

The flow. With xMap Flows, Yannis built Sentry. Every five minutes, across the waters off Piraeus, Sentry listens for every ship, spots any that entered the cable zone, keeps the ones slowing down to anchor, tells the patrol boat, and marks them on the duty map.

The result. Last Thursday at two in the morning, a tanker slowed inside the zone. Sentry warned the patrol boat within five minutes, and the ship moved off before its anchor touched the seabed. Yannis cannot watch every ship. Now he does not have to.

Guides and decks

Questions

Can xMap Flows find the nearest ambulance to an incident?

Yes. Find nearest takes your own list of units or stations and, for each incoming incident, adds the nearest ones and their distance.

Can it show coverage gaps?

Yes. It ranks areas by residents (Demographics) against the distance to your stations.

Does it help security sales?

Yes. New businesses and sites that need guarding, alarms or CCTV, found every week.

Which data is live?

Live: xMap's places database (300M+ places of more than 5,000 kinds), live business listings from online maps, job postings, road incidents, ships (AIS), satellite pictures, weather forecasts, news from the feeds and pages you choose, travel-time areas and routes on the road network, and residents by age (Demographics, in about 100 countries), live road speeds and congestion (Traffic Flow; it does not count cars), footfall around each place (Mobility Footfall, in most of the world, about 10 days behind), plus regional datasets where xMap offers them, such as cars counted on the roads of the United Arab Emirates (Road traffic history). Catchment returns sample figures for now, and every result made from it says so.

Do I need to write code?

No. A flow is built from blocks on a canvas, from a ready-made template, or by describing it to Ask xMap in a sentence; Ask xMap builds it, tests it and fixes what fails. Developers can also use the API and the MCP server.

How fast can a security & emergency services team start?

Hire one of the AI employees above: answer two questions (the city and the kind of place), or write one sentence to make it yours ("for dental clinics in Lyon, to WhatsApp every Monday"), and it runs in your own account with results you can see. A new account can also type its website and meet three AI employees already tried in its city. Or try the home page first: no account needed.

Can an agency or consultancy offer this to its clients?

Yes. Your logo and colour on the app, emails and reports, emails from your own domain, the app on your own address, and a read-only page for each client with its results, map and weekly report. See the Partners page.
