Two days of warning before the storm
Mia is an independent insurance broker in Auckland, with three hundred clients, from homes on the North Shore to boatyards in Westhaven.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
When a big storm is coming, she wants to warn every client. But she hears about it on the news the night before, and can call only twenty people. The rest wake up to flooded garages and loose roofs, claims she could have helped them avoid.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Mia built Sentinel. Sentinel is an AI employee: a flow of 6 blocks.
Every morning at six,
Every morning at 6 (Schedule)
Sentinel takes every client's property,
Her clients' properties (My data)
reads the next three days of forecast at each one,
Three days ahead (Weather forecast)
picks out those facing winds above ninety kilometres an hour,
Wind over 90 km/h (Filter)
writes advice that fits each property,
Advice for each property (xMap LLM)
and emails it from Mia, two days early.
A warning from Mia (Microsoft Outlook)
What it solves
- Hears it on the news: solved by Schedule and Weather forecast
- Calls only 20 people: solved by Filter and Microsoft Outlook
- Claims she could stop: solved by xMap LLM
The result
When the last storm turned towards Auckland, Sentinel warned one hundred and forty clients two days before it hit. Boats were lifted out, gutters cleared, furniture tied down. Her storm claims fell by a third, and four clients sent her their friends.
Mia's clients still get storms. They just stopped getting surprised.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.
