Trusting the road, not doubting the driver
Sipho leads the claims team at a car insurer in Cape Town.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
Most crash claims are honest. A few are not, and they look exactly the same. So every claim waits days for checks. Honest drivers wait for a tow truck and a payout, and his team spends its days doubting people.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Sipho built Witness. Witness is an AI employee: a flow of 6 blocks.
When a driver reports a crash in the insurer's Telegram bot,
A driver reports a crash (Telegram Bot event)
Witness checks the live road incidents at that spot,
Incidents at that spot (Traffic incidents)
and if the road shows one there,
Does the road agree? (Branch)
sends a tow truck at once,
Tow truck on its way (Telegram Bot)
while the others wait for a handler's yes,
A handler takes a look (Approval)
and then hear back on Telegram.
Help is coming (Telegram Bot)
What it solves
- Every claim doubted: solved by Traffic incidents and Branch
- Days for a tow truck: solved by Telegram Bot
- Fraud looks honest: solved by Approval
The result
Now six in ten claims match an incident on the road, and those drivers get a tow truck within minutes and their money in two days. His team looks closely at the rest, and last quarter found nine staged crashes.
Sipho's team stopped doubting everyone. Now they trust the road.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.
