Six beaches, one van, the right one each morning
Harper sells gelato from a little blue van in Sydney. She has six beaches to choose from, and only one van.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
Every morning she checks three weather apps and picks a beach on a hunch. Pick a beach under cloud, and the gelato goes home unsold. Last summer she counted eleven days like that, and a whole week of takings melted with them.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Harper built Lighthouse. Lighthouse is an AI employee: a flow of 6 blocks.
Every morning at six,
Every morning at 6 (Schedule)
Lighthouse reads her six favourite beaches,
Her six beaches (My data)
checks today’s forecast at each one,
Each beach, today (Weather forecast)
keeps the dry ones at twenty-six degrees or warmer,
Dry and 26°C or warmer (Filter)
puts the warmest first,
Warmest first (Sort and limit)
and sends her the pick on WhatsApp before her coffee.

What it solves
- Three apps each morning: solved by Schedule and Weather forecast
- A beach on a hunch: solved by Filter and Sort and limit
- 11 days unsold: solved by Sort and limit and WhatsApp Business
The result
Today, Lighthouse says Cronulla: thirty-one degrees and no rain, while cloud sits over Manly. Harper drives south, parks by the sand, and sells out by three. This summer she has had two slow days, not eleven.
Harper no longer chases the sun. It tells her where to park.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.
