Pump crews in place before the rain hits Jakarta
Rina runs operations for the drainage agency in Jakarta, with seventy pump stations along the rivers and canals.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
In the rainy season, storms build in the afternoon. Crews are called out once the streets are already under water, and some stations sit unmanned for the first hour. That hour floods homes.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Rina built Monsoon. Monsoon is an AI employee: a flow of 7 blocks.
Every morning at four,
Every day at 4 a.m. (Schedule)
for each of seventy pump stations,
Seventy pump stations (My data)
Monsoon reads today’s rain forecast,
Rain expected today (Weather forecast)
keeps the stations where heavy rain is coming,
Heavy rain coming (Filter)
puts the heaviest first,
Heaviest first (Sort and limit)
hands them to the crew call out,
Crew call-out (Run another flow)
and marks them on today’s map.

What it solves
- Called out too late: solved by Weather forecast and Run another flow
- Stations unmanned: solved by Filter and Sort and limit
- The first hour floods: solved by Run another flow and Show on a map
The result
At four this morning, Monsoon saw heavy rain coming for twelve stations in the north. Their crews were called out and in place by noon. When the storm broke at three, every pump was already running.
Rina stopped chasing the rain. Now her crews wait for it.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.

Seventy pump stations
Brings in a table you uploaded or a list you saved on the My data page: your stores, customers, target accounts or sites.
- 3
Rain expected today
The weather forecast (Open-Meteo, from national weather services) for up to 16 days: temperature, rain, wind and UV.
- 4
- 5
Heaviest first
Puts the items in order, and can keep only the first ones: the 10 best rated, the 20 nearest, the highest fit scores.
- 6
Crew call-out
Runs one of your other flows with the items that reach this block, once with all of them or once for each (a loop), and can carry on with what that flow found.
