From bad headline to the account team in minutes
Larissa heads media monitoring at one of Sao Paulo’s largest PR agencies. She looks after forty brands.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
Every morning three interns read the news sites for clients’ names. A bad story posted at nine reaches the account team at three, after the client’s chief executive has seen it. Most days they read four hundred stories to find six.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Larissa built Echo. Echo is an AI employee: a flow of 6 blocks.
Every fifteen minutes,
Every 15 minutes (Schedule)
Echo reads Brazil’s main news feeds,
Brazil’s main news feeds (News)
keeps the stories it has not seen,
Not seen before (Only new)
picks out the ones that name a client, with its account lead,
Stories naming a client (Match with my table)
judges whether each is good or bad news,
Good, bad or neutral (xMap LLM)
and posts it to that client’s team.
To the account team (Slack)
What it solves
- Bad news caught at 3pm: solved by Schedule and Slack
- 400 stories a day: solved by Only new and Match with my table
- Clients hear it first: solved by xMap LLM and Slack
The result
A critical story about a client’s factory goes up at twelve past nine. By half past, the account team has it, marked bad news, and a statement is out by ten. The interns now write coverage reports instead of reading.
Larissa’s clients used to call her with the news. Now she calls them first.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.
The flow, block by block
- 1
- 2
Brazil’s main news feeds
Stories from news feeds (RSS or Atom) or a website’s news page: title, link, when, the source and a short summary.
- 3
Not seen before
Lets through only the items this flow has not found before, so a daily flow sends only what is new.
- 4
Stories naming a client
Looks each incoming item up in one of your tables or saved lists (My data), for example your customers.
