Sampling days where the young families live
Karim is a campaign planner at one of Cairo’s biggest marketing agencies. This month he runs sampling days for a baby food brand.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
The brand sells in two hundred supermarkets, and he has promoters for fifteen. He picks stores by gut, and by who answers the phone. Last month, a team stood all day in a store where hardly any young families live.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Karim built Abacus. Abacus is an AI employee: a flow of 6 blocks.
Every Sunday at nine,
Sundays at 9 (Schedule)
for each of the brand’s two hundred supermarkets,
Two hundred supermarkets (My data)
Abacus counts the young children living within a kilometre,
Young children nearby (Demographics)
keeps the fifteen stores with the most,
The best fifteen (Sort and limit)
writes a line on why each one,
Why each store (xMap LLM)
and books the sampling days in the team calendar.
Book the sampling days (Google Calendar)
What it solves
- Picked by gut feeling: solved by Demographics
- Empty sampling days: solved by Demographics and Sort and limit
- Promoters wasted: solved by Sort and limit and Google Calendar
The result
Abacus’s fifteen stores have three times the young children around them of last month’s picks. The promoters hand out every sample by two, and Nasr City runs out first. The brand books three more months.
Karim stopped guessing where the families are. Now the samples run out by two.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.

Two hundred supermarkets
Brings in a table you uploaded or a list you saved on the My data page: your stores, customers, target accounts or sites.
- 3
Young children nearby
Who lives in an area: the number of residents, men and women, and nine age groups, from xMap’s population grid (hexagons of about 0.1 km², about 100 countries).

The best fifteen
Puts the items in order, and can keep only the first ones: the 10 best rated, the 20 nearest, the highest fit scores.
