A pop-up spot that sells out the drop
Wei Ling leads retail marketing for a sneaker brand in Singapore. Every month she opens a pop-up store for a new drop.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
Choosing the spot is a gamble. Her team walks the malls, takes photos, and argues for a week. The last pop-up sat in a quiet corner of a brand new mall, and half the stock went back to the warehouse.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Wei Ling built Watchtower. Watchtower is an AI employee: a flow of 7 blocks.
On the first Monday of every month,
First Monday of the month (Schedule)
from Orchard Road to Tampines,
Orchard to Tampines (Area of interest)
Watchtower finds the malls and food halls,
Malls and food halls (Nearby places)
keeps the ones with a high traffic score where people stay longest,
Busy, with long stays (Filter)
picks the top five,
Top five (Sort and limit)
explains why each one fits the drop,
Why each one fits (xMap LLM)
and turns it all into slides for the team.
Slides for the team (Make a report)
What it solves
- A week of mall walks: solved by Schedule and Nearby places
- Guesswork on corners: solved by Filter and Sort and limit and xMap LLM
- Stock sent back: solved by Sort and limit and Make a report
The result
This month, Watchtower ranks five spots, with Bugis on top: people there stay well over an hour. The team agrees in one meeting instead of five. The pop-up sells out in nine days, a week faster than the last one.
Wei Ling’s team stopped arguing about corners. Now they argue about restocking.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.

Orchard to Tampines
Sets where the flow looks: countries, cities or specific places, or areas you draw on a map.
- 3
Malls and food halls
Places around a point from xMap’s own places database (300M+ places, refreshed every month): pick the types of place (more than 5,000, such as Restaurant, Cafe, Pharmacy, Hospital or Gas station, or a whole group of them) and how far to look.

Top five
Puts the items in order, and can keep only the first ones: the 10 best rated, the 20 nearest, the highest fit scores.

Slides for the team
Turns the items that reach it into a clean PDF report with your logo and colour: the summary an xMap LLM block wrote for the whole list, the figures, charts of kinds and cities, a map and the list.
