Sixty fields checked before breakfast

Vikram is an independent crop adviser outside Hyderabad. Sixty farms pay him to keep their cotton and rice healthy.

Listen to the story:

The challenge

He can visit maybe six farms a day, so each farm sees him once every two weeks. By the time he spots a field turning yellow from pests or thirst, the damage is done. He spends more time on the road than in the fields.

How the flow works

With xMap Flows, Vikram built Orbit. Orbit is an AI employee: a flow of 5 blocks.

  1. Every Monday morning,

    Every Monday (Schedule)

  2. Orbit takes his sixty farms,

  3. finds the latest clear satellite picture of each field,

What it solves

The result

On Monday, Vikram opens one map and clicks through sixty fields in twenty minutes. Three near Chevella look paler than their neighbours. He drives straight there, finds stem borer early, and saves the crop.

Vikram still walks the fields. He just knows which ones need him.

An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.

The flow, block by block

  1. 1

    Every Monday

    Schedule

Starts the flow on a timetable.

  2. 2

    My data

Brings in a table you uploaded or a list you saved on the My data page: your stores, customers, target accounts or sites.

  3. 3

    Latest clear picture

    Satellite images

Recent satellite pictures (Sentinel-2, about 10 m per pixel, a new pass every few days) of each incoming place, a point or the Area of interest: when it was taken, how cloudy, and the picture itself.

    Weather forecast

The weather forecast (Open-Meteo, from national weather services) for up to 16 days: temperature, rain, wind and UV.

  5. 5

    All fields on one map

    Show on a map

Shows the results as points on a map, with the area of interest.
