Hotels where electric car guests have nowhere to charge
Jordan is an electrician in Denver who installs charging points for electric cars.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
Hotels are his best customers: guests with electric cars pick the hotel where they can charge overnight. But he cold calls down a list, and most already have chargers or don’t care. Three days a week on the phone bring one job a month.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Jordan built Socket. Socket is an AI employee: a flow of 7 blocks.
Every Monday at seven,
Every Monday at 7 (Schedule)
across metro Denver,
Metro Denver (Area of interest)
Socket finds every hotel,
Hotels (Nearby places)
counts the public chargers within five hundred metres,
Chargers within 500 m (EV charging)
keeps the hotels with none,
Nowhere to charge (Filter)
puts the best rated first,
Best rated first (Sort and limit)
and emails him the list, with every phone number.
His call list (Email)
What it solves
- Cold calling a list: solved by Nearby places and Email
- Most already have one: solved by EV charging and Filter
- One job a month: solved by Sort and limit
The result
On Monday, Socket sends him thirty-four hotels, from Cherry Creek to Aurora, where a guest has nowhere to charge for half a kilometre. Jordan calls ten. Three book a site visit, and two sign before the end of the month.
Jordan stopped selling chargers. He started showing hotels what they’re missing.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.
