A night concierge for fourteen hotels, in every language
Minjun leads guest experience for a big hotel group in Seoul, with fourteen hotels from Myeongdong to Gangnam.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
Guests ask the front desk the same things all day: where to eat now, where the nearest pharmacy is, will it rain tomorrow. Most questions come after ten at night, in five languages. Lines form, and the night staff can’t check in arriving guests.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Minjun built Compass. Compass is an AI employee: a flow of 5 blocks.
When a guest writes in the hotel’s chat,
The guest chat (Chat)
Compass works out what they need,
The night concierge (AI agent)
finds the places near their hotel,
Places near the hotel (Nearby places)
checks tomorrow’s weather,
Tomorrow in Seoul (Weather forecast)
and answers in the guest’s own language.
Answer the guest (Reply)
What it solves
- Same questions all day: solved by AI agent and Nearby places and Weather forecast
- Five languages at night: solved by Reply
- Lines at check-in: solved by Chat and Reply
The result
Tonight, Compass answers three hundred and ten questions. A family in Myeongdong finds a pharmacy four hundred metres away, rated four point six. The night desk checks in every late flight without a line.
Every guest now has a concierge who knows the streets, even at two in the morning.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.
The flow, block by block
- 1
The guest chat
Starts the flow when someone writes in its chat: the chat window in the editor, or a chat page you can share or put on your website.
- 2
The night concierge
An AI agent: for each incoming message it thinks, uses the blocks you link to its Tools port (data, xMap AI, lookups, your tables, other flows, apps), remembers the conversation and writes an answer in {{reply}}.
- 3
Places near the hotel
Places around a point from xMap’s own places database (300M+ places, refreshed every month): pick the types of place (more than 5,000, such as Restaurant, Cafe, Pharmacy, Hospital or Gas station, or a whole group of them) and how far to look.
- 4
Tomorrow in Seoul
The weather forecast (Open-Meteo, from national weather services) for up to 16 days: temperature, rain, wind and UV.
- 5
Answer the guest
Answers whoever started the flow, on the same channel: the app or system that called its Webhook / API gets the answer back, and a message from Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, Teams, SMS, Outlook or Discord gets a reply in the same chat, through the account of the block that received it.
Templates to build it
Ready-made flows with the same blocks. Open one, change the city and the kind of place, and run it.
