Eight cabs that hear about a closure first
Rahul owns eight cabs that do airport runs in Bengaluru. He drives one of them himself.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
The road to the airport is full of surprises: metro works, a closed flyover, a lane shut near Hebbal. One closure can make a passenger miss a flight, and then comes a bad review. Rahul hears about them on the radio, if he hears at all.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Rahul built Magpie. Magpie is an AI employee: a flow of 5 blocks.
Whenever a road closes near one of his five pickup spots,
A road closed on the way (When something changes)
Magpie keeps one alert for each road,
One alert per road (Remove duplicates)
writes a plain heads-up naming the road,
A plain heads-up (xMap LLM)
sends it to all eight drivers,
To all eight drivers (WhatsApp Business)
and puts the day's closures on a map.
Today's closures (Show on a map)
What it solves
- Surprise road closures: solved by When something changes and Show on a map
- Missed flights, reviews: solved by WhatsApp Business
- News comes too late: solved by When something changes and xMap LLM
The result
At four in the morning, Magpie spots a closure on the Hebbal flyover. Every driver knows before the first pickup and leaves ten minutes early. Not one passenger has missed a flight this month, and his rating is back to four point eight.
Rahul still listens to the radio. Just not for the traffic.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.
The flow, block by block
- 1
A road closed on the way
Starts the flow when something changes around your places, instead of on a timer: a new place of a kind opens nearby, a rating drops below a line, a place closes, or a road is closed near a site.
- 2
One alert per road
Keeps one of each item when the same one arrives more than once, for example from two searches that overlap.
- 3
- 4
To all eight drivers
