No guest drags a suitcase past a closed street
Daniela rents out four furnished flats in El Poblado, in Medellin, to visitors from all over the world. She runs it all from her phone.
Listen to the story:
The challenge
Guests arrive by taxi, often at night, and the hills of El Poblado are full of roadworks. When a street is closed, the driver stops two blocks away and a guest drags a suitcase uphill in the dark. Each late check-in is a bad review waiting to happen.
How the flow works
With xMap Flows, Daniela built Lantern. Lantern is an AI employee: a flow of 5 blocks.
Whenever a road is closed near one of her flats,
A road closed near a flat (When something changes)
Lantern checks who is arriving there today,
Who arrives today (Match with my table)
writes a short note on the best way in,
Another way in (xMap LLM)
asks Daniela to approve it,
One tap from Daniela (Approval)
and sends it to each guest on WhatsApp.

The result
Last Friday, roadworks closed the street to one of her flats near Calle Diez at nine at night. Within the hour, the three guests arriving that evening had a note with the way in from the other side, and every one checked in on time.
Daniela can’t stop the roadworks. She just makes sure no guest meets them alone.
An illustrative scenario: the figures are modelled to show what the flow produces, not a customer's results.
The flow, block by block
- 1
A road closed near a flat
Starts the flow when something changes around your places, instead of on a timer: a new place of a kind opens nearby, a rating drops below a line, a place closes, or a road is closed near a site.
- 2
Who arrives today
Looks each incoming item up in one of your tables or saved lists (My data), for example your customers.
