How-to guide

How to collect a list from a website that has no export

A directory, portal or catalogue read for you every week, with only the new entries sent on.

Many useful lists live on websites with a search box and no download: the clinics in a professional directory, the planning applications on a council portal, the products in a supplier’s catalogue. This flow reads one for you.

  1. Schedule: every Monday at 08:00 in your time zone.
  2. Browser: the directory’s search page as the Start page, the task in your own words (search for dental clinics in Toronto and list the first twenty) and what to Bring back (name, phone, address).
  3. Only new: drops the entries earlier runs already found.
  4. Email (or Slack, a sheet): the new entries to your team.

The browser only reads and searches: it never signs in or presses buy, send or apply, and it leaves alone a site whose robots.txt asks robots not to visit. Use it only on sites whose terms allow it.
