Route planning

Putting a day's visits into a good order, for one rep or several.

Route planning (the travelling salesperson and vehicle routing problems) finds an order of visits that keeps time on the road low: from a start point, through every stop, and often back again, sometimes shared between several people.

In xMap Flows the Route planner block orders the places a flow found, one route or one for each rep (after Split by territory), by car, walking or cycling, with the time and distance of each leg and a directions link for each part. It uses a road routing service; when that cannot answer, it orders the stops by straight-line distance and marks the route an estimate.
