H3 hexagons

A global grid of hexagons used to count things evenly across areas.

H3 is a system that covers the Earth with hexagons at several sizes. Because every cell has the same shape and neighbours, data counted per hexagon compares cleanly across a city, and heat maps look even.

The Demographics block counts residents in hexagons of about 0.1 km2 (resolution 9) and can return every hexagon for a heat map, or totals for each area.
