What Placer.ai is
Placer.ai is a location analytics service that estimates visits to stores and venues from mobile location data, used for retail, real estate and market research, with its strongest coverage in the United States.
It answers how busy a place is. Finding new outlets, following competitors' openings, scoring sites from residents and roads, and getting that to a team automatically are different jobs.
Where xMap Flows is different
- Each flow is an AI employee with a job: a role, a timetable, a monthly budget, and a choice of how much it does alone (ask me first, act and tell me, or fully on its own). Together they work as a team: an org chart, handoffs from one to the next, a Team inbox where each reports, and a weekly review.
- Every business of a type in an area, worldwide, with what opened recently.
- Monitoring: new competitors, closures, rating moves, hiring, road incidents.
- Site scoring from competitors, residents and access, ranked by AI.
- Automated delivery and a workspace to act on results.
When Placer.ai is the better choice
We would rather you use the right tool. Placer.ai is likely the better fit when:
- Visit counts and visitor profiles for specific venues.
- Detailed foot traffic trends for retail analysis.
Use them together
Use visit data where you have it for the venues that matter, and xMap Flows to find, monitor and act on the wider market around them.
Moving to xMap Flows
- This is rarely either-or: use each for its question.
Most teams start from a template or by describing the flow to Ask xMap.
Questions
Does xMap Flows have foot traffic data?
Yes, in the cities it covers so far: the Mobility Footfall block gives footfall per day around each place (people-hours of presence scaled to the population, not unique visitors), the busiest hour and day, and where visitors come from and how they travel, as aggregates only. A place with no data yet says so. Traffic Flow measures how fast road traffic moves around a place, not how many people visit it.
