What Clay is
Clay is a data enrichment platform for go-to-market teams: tables where each column can call a data provider or an AI step to research companies and people, popular for building outbound lists.
Its starting point is usually a list of companies and people. Teams that sell to shops, clinics, restaurants or sites need a different starting point: what exists in a territory, what opened this week, what is near what.
Where xMap Flows is different
- Each flow is an AI employee with a job: a role, a timetable, a monthly budget, and a choice of how much it does alone (ask me first, act and tell me, or fully on its own). Together they work as a team: an org chart, handoffs from one to the next, a Team inbox where each reports, and a weekly review.
- Starts from the map: every business of a type in a city or territory, from 300M+ places, or a live scan of online maps.
- Finds what is new each day (Only new) and what changed (closures, new phone numbers, rating moves).
- Location signals in the score: distance to your sites, competitors around, residents, roads.
- Runs on its own every morning and delivers to email, Slack, WhatsApp or the CRM.
- Decision makers through your own Apollo account when you need the person.
When Clay is the better choice
We would rather you use the right tool. Clay is likely the better fit when:
- B2B outbound to companies where location does not matter.
- Waterfall enrichment of people across many contact data providers.
- Spreadsheet-style research workflows.
Use them together
Use xMap Flows to find and rank the local businesses, then send them to a sheet or table that Clay enriches further for outbound.
Moving to xMap Flows
- Identify Clay tables that start from a location search.
- Rebuild them as flows with Nearby places or Map business scan, xMap LLM and Apollo.
- Deliver to the same sheet or CRM your team uses today.
Most teams start from a template or by describing the flow to Ask xMap.
