What Claude is
Claude, by Anthropic, is a general AI assistant. You ask it in a chat and it answers: it researches, writes, reasons, analyses the files you give it, writes code and helps you decide. It can also use tools and connectors that people add to it.
An assistant works when someone asks, one conversation at a time. Turning a question such as "which new pharmacies opened near our stores this week?" into something that is answered every Monday, from the same data, for the whole team, needs more than a chat: a source of places, a timetable, a memory of what was already found, and a way to deliver and track it.
Where xMap Flows is different
- It works without being asked: on a timetable, or the moment something changes near the places you watch, a new row lands in a sheet, or a message arrives.
- Live location data is built in: more than 300 million places, job postings, road incidents and speeds, weather, demographics, satellite pictures, ships, news, tenders and more, with no searching the web.
- The same steps every run, with run history, versions and the cost of each run, so this week is comparable with last week.
- It remembers what it found: Only new sends just what is new, What changed shows what moved, and every result is kept with its score and reason.
- It acts on the results: emails, Slack, WhatsApp, outreach, your CRM, Google Sheets, your database, maps and PDF reports.
- Built for a team: AI employees with roles, a monthly budget each, approvals before anything is sent, a team inbox and a weekly review.
When Claude is the better choice
We would rather you use the right tool. Claude is likely the better fit when:
- One-off questions, research and writing.
- Planning, strategy and judgement calls.
- Reading and analysing your own documents.
- Coding and building software.
Use them together
They work best together. Add xMap Flows to Claude as a connector (Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, https://flows.xmap.ai/mcp) and ask Claude, on your computer or your phone, to list your AI employees, build a new one in plain words, test it, read what it found this week or ask a question of the map. Claude does the thinking in the chat; xMap Flows does the work every day after the chat ends.
Moving to xMap Flows
- Take a question you keep asking Claude every week, such as "find new cafes in Lisbon".
- Type it into Ask xMap in xMap Flows, or ask Claude to build it through the connector.
- Run it once, check the results, and deploy it: it then runs on its own and sends you only what is new.
Most teams start from a template or by describing the flow to Ask xMap.
Questions
Can Claude use xMap Flows?
Yes. xMap Flows has an MCP server: add it as a connector in Claude on the web, then use it on your phone too. Claude acts as you, with exactly your access, and asks before anything is sent, deployed or deleted.
Does xMap Flows use AI too?
Yes. xMap AI builds flows from a sentence, scores and ranks every result with a reason, writes summaries and drafts, and runs AI agents that answer on chat pages, WhatsApp or Slack.
Why not just ask Claude every Monday?
You can, but someone has to remember to ask, the answer is written afresh each time, and nothing tells you what is new since last week. A flow does it on its own, the same way every time, and sends only what changed.
