What ChatGPT is
ChatGPT, by OpenAI, is a general AI assistant used for questions, research, writing, analysis of files you upload and much more, in a chat. It can search the web, and people can add apps and connectors to it.
A chat is a conversation, not a process. Watching a market (new competitors, companies hiring, roads closing, rain at your sites) means asking again and again, checking which answers are new, and copying them to where the team works. Answers from the web are not a database of places with positions, so they are hard to map, compare or keep up to date.
Where xMap Flows is different
- An AI employee with a job: it runs every morning, every hour, or when something changes, and nobody has to remember to ask.
- A real places database (more than 300 million places with positions, ratings, phones and websites) and live signals: hiring, traffic, weather, demographics, satellite, ships, news and tenders.
- Areas you can draw: cities, countries, a circle around each store, or what is within 15 minutes by car.
- Only what is new since the last run, scored with a reason, kept as results your team can search, map and share.
- Sent where work happens: email, Slack, WhatsApp, Google Sheets, your CRM or database, PDF reports and shared maps.
- Predictable and controlled: the same steps every run, a budget per AI employee, approvals before anything goes out, and an activity log.
When ChatGPT is the better choice
We would rather you use the right tool. ChatGPT is likely the better fit when:
- Open questions and brainstorming.
- Writing, editing and translating.
- Analysing a file or a dataset you already have.
- Learning and explaining.
Use them together
Connect xMap Flows to ChatGPT as an app through its MCP server (https://flows.xmap.ai/mcp; on business plans, in developer mode), then ask ChatGPT to show your AI employees, build or change one in plain words, or answer a question of the map with xMap's data. ChatGPT helps you decide; xMap Flows keeps doing the work every day.
Moving to xMap Flows
- Pick a question you paste into ChatGPT again and again.
- Describe it to Ask xMap: "every Monday, find new gyms in Madrid and email me the list".
- Run it once, then deploy it: from then on it runs by itself and sends only what is new.
Most teams start from a template or by describing the flow to Ask xMap.
Questions
Can ChatGPT use xMap Flows?
Yes, through xMap Flows' MCP server. It acts as you, with exactly your access, and anything that sends, deploys or deletes is marked so ChatGPT asks first.
Is the data the same as a web search?
No. xMap Flows reads its own databases of places and live signals, each place with a position, so results can be mapped, compared across runs and kept.
Do I need to know how to build workflows?
No. Describe what you want in a sentence; Ask xMap builds the flow, tests it on sample data and says what it will cost before it runs.
