What CARTO is
CARTO is a cloud location intelligence platform that works on top of data warehouses such as BigQuery and Snowflake, with spatial analytics, maps and apps built by data teams.
It assumes a data team, a warehouse and data to analyse. Teams that want an automated daily list or alert without a data project have a long way to go.
Where xMap Flows is different
- Each flow is an AI employee with a job: a role, a timetable, a monthly budget, and a choice of how much it does alone (ask me first, act and tell me, or fully on its own). Together they work as a team: an org chart, handoffs from one to the next, a Team inbox where each reports, and a weekly review.
- Data included, no warehouse needed; or read and write your own PostgreSQL, BigQuery or Snowflake when you have one.
- Business users build flows themselves; Ask xMap builds them from a sentence.
- Delivery and action: messages, CRM records, approvals, and a Team inbox where each AI employee reports.
When CARTO is the better choice
We would rather you use the right tool. CARTO is likely the better fit when:
- Large-scale spatial analysis in your warehouse.
- Custom map applications built by data teams.
Use them together
Save xMap Flows results into the same BigQuery or Snowflake with Save to my database, and analyse them in CARTO.
Moving to xMap Flows
- Keep analytical work in CARTO.
- Move recurring monitoring and lead lists into xMap Flows, writing results to your warehouse.
Most teams start from a template or by describing the flow to Ask xMap.
Questions
Can xMap Flows write to my warehouse?
Yes: Save to my database adds or updates rows in PostgreSQL, BigQuery or Snowflake on a connection you allow to write.
