What Esri ArcGIS is

ArcGIS is Esri's geographic information system: professional mapping, spatial analysis and data management, with business tools such as site and market analysis built on rich demographic data. It is the standard in many governments and large enterprises.

It is built for GIS professionals. Getting a daily answer to a sales rep, a dispatcher or a store manager usually means an analyst prepares it, and repeating it every morning means building and maintaining that process.

When Esri ArcGIS is the better choice

We would rather you use the right tool. Esri ArcGIS is likely the better fit when:

Use them together

Use ArcGIS for analysis and xMap Flows to automate the daily operational part: GeoJSON from xMap maps opens in GIS tools, and drawn areas can be pasted into an Area of interest as GeoJSON.

Moving to xMap Flows

  1. Keep analysis in ArcGIS.
  2. Move recurring "send this list every morning" work to xMap Flows.
  3. Exchange areas and results as GeoJSON.

Most teams start from a template or by describing the flow to Ask xMap.

Questions

Can I use my own shapes?

Yes: paste GeoJSON into an Area of interest or draw areas and points; download results as GeoJSON or CSV.
