Sixty fields checked before breakfast
Vikram is an independent crop adviser outside Hyderabad. Sixty farms pay him to keep their cotton and rice healthy. He can visit maybe six farms a day, so each farm sees him once every two weeks. By the time he spots a field turning yellow from pests or thirst, the damage is done. He spends more time on the road than in the fields. With xMap Flows, Vikram built Orbit. Every Monday morning, Orbit takes his sixty farms, finds the latest clear satellite picture of each field, adds the rain expected in the week ahead, and puts every field on one map, picture by picture. On Monday, Vikram opens one map and clicks through sixty fields in twenty minutes. Three near Chevella look paler than their neighbours. He drives straight there, finds stem borer early, and saves the crop. Vikram still walks the fields. He just knows which ones need him.
Scenarios and figures in the films are modelled to show what a flow produces. None describes a named customer.
