No outdoor event rained out all season
Amara is events director at one of Dakar’s largest event agencies. Her team runs outdoor weddings and launches along the Corniche. In the rainy season, a storm can wash out an event in an hour. Today she checks the weather the night before and phones every supplier in a panic. Twice this year, the tents arrived after the guests. With xMap Flows, Amara built Sentinel. Two days before each event in the team calendar, Sentinel looks up the venue in her table, checks the forecast for that day, and if rain or strong wind is coming, writes a plan B, posts it to the crew, and books a tent check the day before. On Thursday, Sentinel sees a storm coming for Saturday’s beach wedding in Ngor. The crew has the plan B by noon, the tents are up on Friday, and the bride never knows. This season, not one event has been rained out. Amara still can’t stop the rain. She just sees it coming two days early.
